As a board certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Babu sees herself as not only a capable and comprehensive clinician, but also as a considerate patient advocate with emphasis on preventive medicine. She wishes to be a guide to her adult patients through their ever-changing healthcare needs, whether battling a chronic illness, experiencing new or acute symptoms, or keeping up with their annual preventive visits. Her focus will be on convenient patient care combined with up-to-date and evidence based medical treatments.
Dr. Babu’s priority is to emphasize the importance of primary care at every stage of adult life. She will work with her patients to help them be their healthiest by offering annual physical exams, and as necessary on-site 3-D mammograms, bone density studies, cardiovascular studies, and cancer screening. She is trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions. She is skilled in the management of multiple and complicated diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, as well as treating acute symptoms.
After growing up in New Orleans, Dr. Babu graduated from Tulane University, then received her medical degree at LSU Shreveport, and completed her residency at the UT Medical Branch, Galveston. She was recognized and awarded the Outstanding Clinic Award in Internal Medicine at UTMB, 2022. She is a member of professional organizations such as the American College of Physicians and the Texas Medical Association.
