Dr. Dugan received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2010. After obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Dugan continued his education at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. Dugan was honored to receive the Cheves and Isabella Smythe Excellence Award, given to the resident that exemplifies the qualities of “Selfless, Mentor, Young at heart, Thinker, Healer and Excellence”. In addition, he received the Monica Monet Holloway Barrett, MD Award, given to the graduating internal medicine resident who exemplifies the professional qualities of integrity, excellence in patient care, leadership in community service and kindness of spirit. Prior to medical school he worked as an engineer after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University at College Station in 2002.
At the University of Texas Medical School at Houston he went on to complete a gastroenterology fellowship and worked in three institutions: MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Medical Center, and Lyndon Baines Johnson County Hospital. Each facility provided a unique learning environment and diverse patient encounters, which have enabled him to develop broad clinical skills. During his final year of fellowship, Dr. Dugan was honored to serve as chief gastroenterology fellow before joining Medical Clinic of Houston, L.L.P. in August 2016. Dr. Dugan is board certified in both Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology.
